PW1900G/Embraer E2 Jets Engine Installation

Embraer_E190-E2_2334328Pratt & Whitney is powering the new Embraer E190/E195 E2 family of 106-132 passenger commercial jets with the PW1900G geared turbofan engine which is slated for entry into service in 2018. Padden Design Engineering is supporting Northrop Grumman’s contract to develop the engine mount attachment hardware for the engine installation to the pylon, providing engineering management, design, and analysis.

Development of the engine to pylon attachment includes completing 3 design reviews, detail design of attachment hardware, secondary retention devices, component and system validation through finite element analysis, reliability and maintainability analysis, and design of the structural test rig for certification.

Padden Design Engineering has past experience with Pratt & Whitney’s family of geared turbofan engines dating back to the development of the engine mount system for the GTF Demo Engine PW1000G in 2007 and later on the PW1100G for the Airbus A320Neo.
